A Pure Offering (2020)

This performance is centered around the intimacy created between two people when water is offered for drinking; perhaps one of the most intimate acts is sharing water with conversation.

An Invitation (2020)

In setting up each of my performances in the past, I grew more aware of the beauty in the preparations. What was not intended to be a piece of the performance grew increasingly performative. This drew me to question where the line between performance and living really comes into play. An Invitation began as a simple rhythmic and repetitive exercise for me and flourished into a series of questions.

Acidity can make you temperamental (2020) ~ interactive website version

This project was focused on the virtual experience in relation to an intimate poem. Created at the start of the pandemic, one of the main goals was to explore intimacy and confrontation in a basic form. (another version of this project is located in the ‘Books’ tab)

a conversation without words (2019)

[a project exploring the themes of social dynamics, intimacy, spectatorship and authority]

In a large empty industrial looking space sits a low set brown rectangular table on a white rectangular rug. On the table are eight place settings. At each setting sits one small mason jar filled with water. A pile of white rectangular cards sit in between each setting, placed so that either person on either side of the table can reach them. A single white rectangular card sits  directly in the center of the setting with instructions reading:

This is a back and forth action between two people. Decided, without words, between you & the person sitting across from you, one will go first. That person will take the first card. Read each card carefully and completely before beginning your performance. Set the card down by your feet before you perform; do not hold it while performing. The amount of time you perform is up to you. Once done performing, sit still and turn your ear to the person. It’s now their turn. When you run out of cards, the performance is over. Sit silently still with your hands folded until everyone at the table is finished.

When cued, eight people gather around the table, one at each place setting. Once this instruction has been read, a conversation without words ensues.
